Ragdoll Colours and Patterns

Patterns

The original varieties were Colourpoint, Mitted and Bicolour. The new ones are Lynx, Tortie, Torbie and Solid.

COLOURPOINT -
Mask, ears, legs, paws and tails are coloured in one of the varieties mentioned in COLOURS.
The body colour is a little bit lighter than the Point colour. Collar and bib are even lighter. Nose and paw pads have different colours in each variety.

Pointed kitten

MITTED -
This pattern has the mask, ears, legs, and tail in one of the varieties of colours mentioned below, also. The body is lighter than the points. White chin, collar and bib as well as white mittens on the front legs and white boots on the back legs, not any higher than mid-thigh. They are white in a strip from the bib to the base of the tail.

BICOLOUR - Ears, mask and tail are coloured in one of the point-colour varieties. The mask shows an inverted white 'V' on the face. Tummy and all legs are completely white. The body is a shade lighter than the point-colour and shows white and coloured patches. Nose and paw pads are pink.

Huggy Bear

LYNX - In addition to one of the patterns above and colours mentioned below, the Lynx shows dark stripes in the body colour. The inside rim of the ears is always white and nose is a brick-colour. The Lynx can unite two patterns.

Thunda
TORTIE - This pattern is seen only in females. Breeding a red Ragdoll with a seal or blue, you may get some kittens Tortie patterns. Torties can show up in Colourpoint, Mitted and Bicolour varieties.

TORBIE - Torbie is the name for a cat which unites the Tortie and the Lynx markings.


SOLID - This is a single colour Ragdoll. Solids are no point-cat, but they do show the Ragdoll usual markings. They are not blue-eyed.

 

COLOUR VARIETIES

The first recognised colours were Seal, Blue, Chocolate and Lilac with the new colours of Red and Cream being accepted by most associations.

SEAL - The points are deep seal brown with the body colour going from fawn to warm brown to cream. Bib and collar are lighter and the nose and paw pads are dark brown.

BLUE - Points are slate blue with the body colour ranging from bluish white to cream. Bib and collar are a shade lighter than the rest of the body. Nose and paw pads are slate blue.
Chynablu
CHOCOLATE - Warm-milk chocolate colours the points while body colour shades from ivory to a lighter shade of the point colour. Nose and paw pads show a warm brown colour in the Colourpoint variety.
Choclit Whyspa
LILAC - The points range from a pinkish-grey to a pinkish-beige. The body has a beautiful magnolia colour. The nose and paw pads are a lavender-brown.

RED - They have red-orange points with body colour in cream with tinges of red through the coat. Colourpoints show a pink nose, which can be freckled and pink paw pads.

CREAM - Points are in a pale cream colour and the body is completely white. Nose and paws pads are pink.
